Google Analytics New Beta Interface

To my suppress when i opened my e-mail there was a notice from Google telling me about there new Beta Version of Google Analytics. I was just on the site this morning and must say the changes are welcome. I had a quick glance at it and could barely contain my self.

The visual changes a appealing to the eyes, the sleek flash interface. Jeff Veen is running Google user experience design and has been working on the project. Since Google bought Measure Map they have been busy working on this new version.

I’m always one to enjoy were my viewers are coming from and now by clicking on geographic locations you can drill down to State or Provence, Very cool.

Cintiq 21UX

Well along with a new job comes new toys. I have not had much time to really play with my new Cintiq 21UX monitor, but the experiences i have had in illustrator and photo shop have been amazing. I find my self needing to know more shortcuts using the stylus opposed to using the mouse. Your arm will be very sore at the end of the day. Not that knowing all the little shortcuts is a bad thing. I really like using the Cintiq 21UX in photo shop especially when doing photo retouches. its much more natural. I’m not a big illustration person so i don’t find it really beneficial in illustrator for my self. i tend to stick with the mouse since I’m mostly doing page layouts now.

Super Delux – Box Land

Some how i ended up reading an article on CNN.com and found my self watching a short movie were the characters are boxes. Its move of an old clasic style mob movie were the guy just wont talk, and gets him self beat to shreds… literally.

I would say its a good little watch.

If you look around the site you will also come across a short of “Little Michael Jackson and Me“. I warn you its creepy.

Dreamweaver CS3

I was itching to see when Dreamweaver CS3 was coming out and came accross the actuall website. not i cant see a release date i do however see the option to pre-order. I must say that it is looking good! lots of cool features many of the ideas discussed in my Previous post here were covered.

The integraded Spry framework for Ajax also seams interesting, i would love to learn about it and how it can make simple aplications more interactice and intuitive.

Let us bow our heads in silence for our departed friend Adobe GoLive. you were always an option never really considered. your moving on could not have happened at a better time.

I can only home using Dreamweaver will be as exiting as its cracked up to be.

So much has been going on! were to start.. Ok my brother in law and his wife are expecting a baby next week, thats great news! soon there will be one more in the family. To top things off Kristi and i are also expecting a baby in November. Thats right im going to be a daddy!! :)

How to Fix a Dead Pixel

I unfortunately do not have any sort of LCD monitor, But i have worked on a 23″ cinema display with a few dead pixels and was annoying.

Instead of accepting your pixel losses and moving your icons and applications around the unsightly view of the pink pixel. This tutorial i found while on a completely other tangent will help you solve your woes.

Joomla!

You might be wondering what Joomla! is all about, Well so am I. From what I have seen it appears to be a very cool Open Source CMS or content management system. There is a good supply of extensions to jazz up your website. I will be using it as a candidate for a prototype website that will require a online store. So i will be keep you informed of my advances and regresses with it. I will first install it on my local server on my PC and see how that works for me.
