Navicat

navicatOk, I was working on my Spoke Calculator and have come across a lot of issues. My purpose for making this calculator was to help my learn PHP in a practical manor. Take a problem figure out the issues and then make a working final product. So i managed to make a log in or admin section, gather information from a database and chose 2 fields to make a calculation from the database. I managed to Add, Edit, and remove information from the Database.

Spoke Calculator

I have been working on a personal project to make my job easier at work. It’s a php spoke calculator I have searched the net for a free customizable calculator and wasn’t able to find one. So I have created one.

Features:

  • Dynamic Calculations
  • Store Data In a DB
  • Chose a hub and rim from the DB to do fast spoke calculations
  • Management including add, remove, edit, and import
  • Search Database
  • Printer friendly
  • XHTML and CSS2 Standards

Its basically done with exception to a few small things. So in the next few weeks keep your eyes out for it. I will also be making some php tutorials that will help you to make some basic applications like my spoke calculator.

Picasa Web Albums

Picasa Web Album Well finally flickr is getting a run for its money, google announced “Picasa Web Albumsâ€?. what do you get for free? Well seams as though you start out with 250mb of free space about enough to hold for approximately 1000 reasonably sized photos and if you need more space $25.00 a year will earn you a whopping 6GB of space! Yes 6GB. How do you get some of this action? Well if you have the newest version of Picasa your on your way. Google is working it like a lot of there new releases were you need an invite to get in. this is no exception.

Take a peak and see what they have to offer it seams kind of cool.

Electric Sheep?

Well I was walking by my boss’s window and i noticed this screen saver called Electronic Sheep and after staring at it for a few minutes I had to have it. What are electronic sheep you may ask well here you go:

Electric Sheep is a free, open source screen saver run by thousands of people all over the world. It can be installed on any ordinary PC or Mac. When these computers “sleep”, the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as “sheep”. The result is a collective “android dream”, an homage to Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

I highly recomend that you get this screen saver!

Here are a few samples:

Flash Earth

earthI just thought that if you were bored that you would probably want to have a look at this, I know I was obsessed with Google Earth, and I came across this http://www.flashearth.com/ created by http://www.neave.com/, it is very neat. It uses the same map servers that Google has, as well as some of the same map features but in a flash format.

Have a look.

Apple with Intel Core Duo Processor?

apple intel insideSo by now you have probably noticed the shocking news about apple, they are now switching there CPU manufacturing from Motorola to Intel and it appears to be wise move. I was reading a blurb about the move and they mentions how Steve Jobs was getting annoyed with Motorola in there inability to create and efficient CPU for there laptops the solution being a Intel like Centrino® chip. So it is said that by the end of the year all models and lines will be shipping with a spiffy new Intel chip. The MacBook Pro will be the first laptop to ship with and Intel built processor.
