great script,

if i want to i use on an intranet (say xammp)
can i disable the google api?

or can it be utilised on an intranet(the api that is?)

cant the google maps be disabled in config?

Nice script! Good Job.
I just install the script an looks to work fine, But i have one problem.
It not display the profile images
I have try all the types (mostly .jpg)
also i have change the mode to 777 at /profiles folder
The image created and uploaded to /profiles folder but it not appeared.
Also when add a new contact or edit one and upload a profile picture it looks that added correct BUT… did not display the image.

Any idea?

I just installed this app; looks really nice. However I’m having some problems with it. After Installation, i logged in with the user/pass I gave it but error on the API. Looked at the config.php file and found key=’googleapi’ so I guess the installer never accepted it…just copied and pasted and now I don’t get that annoying message on each page saying “your api is for a different website”.

The problem I’m having right now is that nothing is showing. For example, I add a new contact, hit the save button, and it just takes me back to the add contact page with all the fields empty. If I try to search, I get nothing, and View only shows me a page with no contacts on it.

Any ideas?

youngone – Make sure you are using the correct request URL (not just the main domain name) at Google’s site. other than that if its a Google issue i cant help you there.

jerett – Register Globals should be on before you install the script, in the install script i used the $_POST and $_GET so it wasn’t needed but to make the address book easier to program for my self i omitted those variables.

Try installing from scratch with an empty Database and see if that helps.

The only requirements i know if is MySQL PHP5 (for Geo cashing) and Register Globals on. Other than that there shouldn’t be any issues.

If there are then i think its beyond my skill level.

Greetings,

We are still having issues with getting the admin area to work. The information is in the Database and after we installed I noticed we needed to turn the reg. globals on which I went ahead and did. I am not sure if this needs to be on BEFORE the install for the admin area to work. Can you please help me get logged in?

Rikki – make sure register globals is turned on, and i have only testes my script with mysql.

If you have phpMyAdmin log into it and go to your data base, under members chose to add information. fill in the desired username and password and beside password chose sha1 and when you save it, the password should be encrypted. Hopefully after that it will work.

Is there a default user/pass to use??

I could not get the setup wizard, but modified the config-sample file and saved as config.php

But then there is the issue with what user/pass to use.

Ala – You will need to install the script with PHP5, unfortanatly it will not run in PHP4.

Hello;

First of all… I would like to thank you for this great script, I search the net for 1 week and your script was the best one :)

I installed the script correctly and everything seems fine but when I try to add a new contact, it give me the following error

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: simplexmlelement in /home/yadonia/public_html/addressbook/add.php on line 30

you would have to add some mysql and change a few files, but it would not be that hard.

you would have to change the add, edit, view, and view full files as well as the mysql.
