Cintiq 21UX

cintiqWell along with a new job comes new toys. I have not had much time to really play with my new Cintiq 21UX monitor, but the experiences i have had in illustrator and photo shop have been amazing. I find my self needing to know more shortcuts using the stylus opposed to using the mouse. Your arm will be very sore at the end of the day. Not that knowing all the little shortcuts is a bad thing. I really like using the Cintiq 21UX in photo shop especially when doing photo retouches. its much more natural. I’m not a big illustration person so i don’t find it really beneficial in illustrator for my self. i tend to stick with the mouse since I’m mostly doing page layouts now.

The monitor also has a built in touch sensor for zooming and scrolling content.

Features:

  • Screen Size: 21.3″ diagonal
  • Weight: 22.4 lbs
  • Screen Resolution: 1600×1200 (LCD with UXGA resolution)
  • Active Area: 17″ x 12.75″
  • Pressure Levels: 1,024
  • Rotation: ±180º
  • Incline: 10º to 65º
  • Data Port: USB

My only real complaint is that it wont tilt to 90º and the monitor doesn’t really seam all that crisp. Now from a normal distance it looks average but given the nature of the monitor and being up close to it you can really see that its a bit fuzzy.

The monitor also has a really clean look but that comes at a price when trying to use the OSD (On Screen Dispay) to change any settings. they are located on the top right back side of the monitor and is less that natural to adjust with the buttons.

All in all i think i like my Dell UltraSharp™ 2007WFP 20.1-inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor better with a tablet instead of the .
