Chopsticks

Posted in: Gear on October 25th, 2006

chopsticksI bought these collapsible camping chopsticks from snow peak and received a lot of flack from my wife and friends. They all thought it was silly. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and what better to try them then my past camping trip. (It was a 2 hour hike in the dark by head lamp in the mud with a 30Lb+ pack crossing glacial rivers then going back to get Kristi and giving her a lift.) I ate mashed potatoes with curry noodles and it worked perfect. I had hot chocolate after that and used them for stir sticks. My only downfall was in the morning when I had creamed wheat for brake fast. That was a bit hard to eat in any sort of timely manor with chopsticks. I broke down and used a spoon.

Some tech specs on the Snow Peak Chopsticks:

  • Collapsible to only 4.5 inches long
  • They weigh in at 28g
  • Stainless steel handle
  • Birch wood tip
